Our Projects

Women Empowerment: Vulnerable women put efforts together to ensure the activities in income generation are effective to improve house hold huger and food security. They work together in farming maize and rice as one of the activities to boost their savings in the group.

Entrepreneurship: Vulnerable women working on the streets, single mothers, widows and child mothers participate in small scale businesses that can help them boost their income and manage the challenges at their house hold level. They participate in produce buying and selling of maize, beans, sorghum, simsim, pigeon piece, green piece among other produce.

Life Skills: Single and child mothers undergo life skills such as tailoring and design, hair dressing, make up and cosmetics.

Peace: Women participation in peace and reconciliation in communities through open barazas and community dialogues for the protection of children livening and working on the streets.

Protection: Protection of child rights through working together with the relevant stake holders such as the police, child protection unit, probation office and other private security officers in Soroti city.

Sports: KWIDA beneficiaries participate in games and sports such as bicycle riding and girls and boys football as a tool to advocating for peace and building talent among the children livening and working on the streets.

Rising of funds: the organization can organize sports activities to raise funds to sport vulnerable women and children in building their life skills capacity and generating income to boost the economic living.


Supporting Vulnerable Children and Women

Our organization focuses on working with several stake holders including government to ensure the safety of children and women.

We provide the following services:

  1. Healthcare: The organization offers healthcare services such as medical checkups and treatment for illness.
  2. Food and nutrition: The organization cherishes provision of nutritious food and safe clean water.
  3. Clothing and Hygiene: Distribute clothes and hygiene products such as pads to girls.

Empowerment and Education: KWIDA Provides Economic support to women and children with interest in entrepreneurship, Small scale business for sustainable income, entrepreneurship training skills to meet the job self-employment market in today’s error.

  1. Education and Skills training: offer literacy programs and short term life skills education to all the beneficiaries.
  2. Counseling and Mentorship: We offer counseling services to all beneficiaries at all stages to ensure mind set change and peer group support for better results.

Advocacy for Policy Change

  1. Raise Awareness: Organize awareness campaigns to educate the public about issues faced by children and women/girls living and working on the streets.
  2. Advocate for Policy Change: Push for laws and policies that protect the rights of street dwelling women and children.
  3. Collaboration with Authorities: We work with local authorities to provide civics and access to social services without discrimination.

Safety Community Based Protection

  1. Dropping Center: The dropping center provides counseling support for all the beneficiaries, they can rest eat and access other services within reach.
  2. Peer Group Support: The organization establishes peer support groups where women and Children share their experiences, receive support and empower each other during and after counseling and even through integration with parents and maternal guardians.
  3. Community Outreaches: KWIDA organizes community outreaches to interact with the community and share the risks faced by the children and women dwelling on the streets.
  4. Media Communications: The organization uses Radio, whatsApp, and other electronic communications to reach out to the public, Radio talk-shows, spot messages and engagement of relevant authorities to raise awareness to the public about women and children’s’ rights.
  5. School Outreaches: the organization visits schools to support in the school learning environment through teacher training on child protection and school retention with special interest to girl child.
