Climate Resilient Agriculture
- The organization looks forward to ensuring the beneficiaries have sustainable Agricultural practices such as regenerating agricultural agro-forestry and permaculture to exchange soil health and biodiversity.
- Support small scale farmers with trainings, resource and market access to promote sustainable agriculture and improve household income.
- Resilient Crops: Advice beneficiaries to shift from less resistant to more resilient crops to climate change such as prolonged drought tolerant varieties.
Adaption of Climate Change
- Disaster risk reduction and Management: The organization mobilizes farmers and educate/sensitize on best practices that minimizes impact of climate related disasters.
- Civic Education on climate change: Educate the community on the impact of climate change to the environment and human living.
Tree Planting
- Local tree planting Events: The organization organizes communities and community groups to and sensitize on the economic, social and health benefits of planting and maintaining certain trees species.
- Educate the communities on the benefits of personal tree planting.
- Provide necessary data on the best tree species with special focus on the native varieties that can be planted in the benefiting communities.
- Mobilization of youth to participate in formation of tree nursery beds for the organization to distribute to community beneficiaries across the target selected areas.
Cultural significance: In African cultures, there are cultural attachments to some of the trees in communities that are of great value such as herbs that treat different diseases locally, this is important for the communities to know and maintain such species thus can only be through sensitization.
Important to note is that KWIDA does not implement this alone but works with relevant stakeholders in different related fields to achieve tangible results. Volunteers and Donor organizations contribute to our success. Every single contribution to any area of interest is highly welcomed for a change and creating conducive living for humanity.
